Thirty-five years have passed since 22 October 1991, the day of the election of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the First Throne of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Since then, His All-Holiness, through the grace of the Holy Triune God, has carried out an exceptionally significant, radiant, and Spirit-filled ministry within Orthodoxy, marked by humility, prayer, a vibrant liturgical life, free from fear and insecurity, but filled with indescribable sacrificial and selfless love.

The Ecumenical Patriarch stands steadfast in prayer, like a candle of pure wax burning before the icons of Christ, our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos, and the Holy Apostle Andrew, founder of the Church of Constantinople, carrying in his heart the care of the entire Orthodox Church, as well as of each and every person individually!

He prays for all creation and for all people, regardless of religion, race, colour, or social status!

The Ecumenical Patriarch is a blessing from God to all of us, and especially to us in the newly established Holy Metropolis of Ireland, which, through his paternal care and blessing, has been given the opportunity to exist and to journey, by the grace of God, towards eternity, bearing witness to the presence of the Crucified and Risen Christ, through the intercessions of the many great Celtic Saints!

We thank you, Your All-Holiness, for everything!

You are an example for us to follow and a source of strength and inspiration!

Many years, Your All-Holiness, our Father and Master!

With profound respect and devotion and love in Christ !
